Thabang is a born leader, when there's pressure, his composure takes over, he has been in the Free State since 2019, till now he's been playing his rugby and has managed to acquire two degrees in Investment Banking and Investment Planning and is also looking to complete his third degree in financial planning, it is without saying he enjoys working hard and has the highest work ethic on the pitch.

Mahlasu playing for the u.13-u.16 at Hoerskool Drie Riviere, u.18 at Hoerskool Transvalia, u.19 at UFS Young Guns, u.21 at Toyota Cheetahs Junior Currie Cup and he is also currently plays for the Shimlas at UFS.
