Toe Jimmy Powell sy jonger broer Neil op 15 April 2000 in ‘n Vodacombeker-kwarteindstryd in die Vrystaat-stadion op skrumskakel vervang het, het die twee broers vir 'n stukkie Vrystaatse rugbygeskiedenis gesorg.

Dit was die eerste keer dat een broer 'n ander broer in dieselfde posisie in die Vrystaatspan vervang het. Dit is van die interessante inligting wat te vinde sal wees in ‘n boek oor 125 jaar van Vrystaat- en Cheetahrugby wat teen die middel van die jaar te koop sal wees vir sowat R400.

When Jimmy Powell replaced his younger brother Neil on 15 April 2000 in a Vodacom Cup match in the Free State Stadium, the two brothers created a bit of history. It was the first time that one brother replaced another brother in the same position in the Free State team.
