Daniel Kasende was born in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Kinshasa is the largest city in Africa, with 17.07 million inhabitants.

Daniel joined the FNB Wits rugby ranks in 2015. He significantly contributed to the institution's on-field successes over many seasons. The star player embarked on the next chapter of his career as a provincial player for the Griquas.
He played his first 13 games for the Toyota Cheetahs on 13 November 2021 in a Toyota Challenge against Western Province XV in the Toyota Stadium, Bloemfontein. He also played against the Sharks in this competition.
On 19 February 2022, Daniel played his first Currie Cup game for the Toyota Cheetahs against the Pumas at the Mbombela Stadium, Mbombela. In his next Currie game on 5 March 2022, he scored two tries against the Lions in Bloemfontein. He already has 11 Currie Cup games under his belt.
He is part of the 2023 Currie Cup winner's squad.
