Frans Steyn has announced that he will retire from professional rugby after three years with the Toyota Cheetahs and a prosperous international rugby career. He is a true legend of the game.
The Toyota Cheetahs would like to thank Frans for his enormous contribution since he joined the side in July 2020. His last match was the Currie Cup game against the Vodacom Bulls on 24 March in Toyota Stadium, Bloemfontein, where he sustained a knee injury.
He became the second Springbok, following the former Cheetah, Os du Randt, to win two Rugby World Cups, once in 2007 and again in 2019.
Frans represented the Toyota Cheetahs in 28 matches and will be remembered for his significant impact on and off the field.
The Toyota Cheetahs wish him well in his future endeavors.
