The 23-year-old fullback Adriaan Carelse joins the Toyota Cheetahs from the Boland Cavaliers where he proved to equality at home in the number 10 jersey.
Born and raised in Somerset West, Carelse, played much of his age group rugby for Western Province before making the move to Wellington.
Carelse played in over 50 matches for the Boland and during his stay there he made the flyhalf role his own. The player was instrumental is Boland qualifying for the Currie Cup Premium Division back in 2016.
It was against his new team, the Toyota Free State Cheetahs, that he made his Currie Cup debut in the Premium Division.
