The Annual General Meeting of the Free State Rugby union will be taking place on Wednesday, 15 November at 18:00 in the Presidential Suite venue at Toyota Stadium.
Council members and members of associations will have the opportunity to elect one of the nominated candidates as the new President of the Free State Rugby Union.
Mr. Lindsay Mould, who was elected as the 19th President of Free State Rugby Union since 1895, will be stepping down after two three year terms. According to the constitution of he is not eligible for re-election.
Mr. Cedric Carson, Jerry Segwaba and Lou Niewoudt are the nominated candidates for election.
The nominated candidates for Deputy Presidents are Mr’s. Charlie May and Vivian Minaar and Mr Lou Niewoudt and Lt. Col. Coenraad Klopper. There is no vacancy for an African black person. Mr Jerry Segwaba currently holds the position and still has a two year term left. If Mr. Segwaba is elected president, his two deputies must come from both a generic black and a white group.
